Shoot What You Love

Seems obvious doesn’t it? “Shoot what you love”. So simple. Yet we get sucked away from that concept so easily. We shoot what we think others want to see. We shoot what we think will make people hire us. On and on it goes.

I’ve had some time to reflect this winter and have always come back to this one recurring theme. Just shoot what you love and it’ll all work out. Odds are there are others out there that love it too.

Recently I’ve been simplifying the process with portraits I’ve taken. Slowing down and focusing on pure connection with the camera. No tricks or frills. Here’s to sharing more of what I love with you in 2014.
